This is Zachary Kennedy, General Manager of Punaluu Bakery.
As many of you have seen, our beloved bakery was badly damaged during Hurricane Lala. Many of us are still cut off from the bakery right now, and communication has been difficult with no power or internet across much of the island.
At this time I have suspended the online store and refunded all pending orders.
I know this is a hard time for everyone in our community and across our islands. But the most important thing is that people are okay. Buildings can be rebuilt. Roads can be repaved. Trees can be planted again. The most precious thing is human life.
We at the bakery are grateful to know that most of our employees are safe and healthy, along with their families. It will take time, and we are currently assessing the damage properly. We will be back. We will be stronger.
I want to take a moment to thank the hundreds of people who have emailed me with messages of support, and the thousands on social media who are keeping us in their prayers and cheering us on. Punaluu Bakery is more than just a business. It is a special place in the hearts of thousands of people, filled with family memories and so much more.

It is currently 4:42 a.m. I am going to try to get a little sleep and head to the bakery tomorrow so I can share more news with you.
